NEW DELHI: The withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from many parts of the country is likely to be delayed by the La Nina phenomenon as a new low-pressure area is in the Bay of Bengal will bring heavy rain to eastern and central India, weather scientists said.

Delayed withdrawal poses a risk for farmers as rainfall at the harvest time can damage crops. However, in northern and north-western India, the weather has already dried up as the southwest monsoon has retreated from many parts of the region.

“Due to weak La Nina conditions prevailing, a fresh low-pressure system will develop in the Bay of Bengal by October 9. This will make the withdrawal more gradual,” a senior scientist said.

The monsoon was expected to leave the subcontinent entirely by October 15. This will almost certainly be missed, the scientist added.

The formation of the low-pressure area near the east coast will also bring heavy rain to parts of east and central India, the India Meteorological Department said.

“Under the influence of fresh Low Pressure Area, rainfall activity very likely to increase over Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh during 11th to 13th Oct, 2020,” IMD said. Apart from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal will also get widespread showers in the coming days.

The URJA ( The United Residents’ Welfare Assn. Joint Action – Body ) must step in , effectively to protect the Rights of Residents , deeply eroded by the harsh , meaningless circulars of Local Bodies of Cities , in the name of COVID – measures . Most RWAs treat the residents / Owners of Flats as their Tenants , and impose unwanted restrictions . Even the visits of Parents/ Son/ Daughter or their Families must get the approvals from Association , usually given after filling in a Form with various details!

Their Cars are not allowed inside for fear of Corona Virus , getting unloaded through them !

Aged Parents must walk a distance inside the Campus , to reach the Flat ! Even if the Flat-owner has an allotted Car- parking , the Visitor’s Car cannot be brought in . A Son , who has bought the Flat , for his Parents to live in , is considered an Outsider if he lives in another Town . He can visit his Parents only with RWA – permission ! Equally stupid rules are made with regard to many issues involving Maids / Home-delivery supply of Grocery/ Medicines . The COVID- panic is embedded in all , to the extent that everyone considers the Other as a Leper or ‘ Sure Covid-case ! If some Viralogist / Doctor/ Scientists writes an article that the Virus can spread through E-mails / Phone-calls , then the World will come to a stand-still ! We have become a ‘ Panic-ridden Society’ , wherein People die every moment !
