Redmi is now rumoured to come up with another premium phone using a Dimensity 1000 chip. This will be joined by another Xiaomi flagship in August and again in Q4 2020.
Xiaomi Mi 10
- A Redmi flagship with Dimensity 1000 is coming in July.
- Xiaomi may also launch the Mi 10S in August.
- The Redmi flagship may end up as the Poco X2.
Xiaomi has calmed down after its early-2020 launch spree. This year, we are seeing a lot of premium Xiaomi devices under Redmi and Mi series. The Mi 10 is the ultimate one from the company that’s also selling in India while the Redmi K30 Pro has so far been restricted to the international markets. Xiaomi’s isn’t stopping there, though. If rumours are to be believed, there’s a new Redmi flagship coming in July.
Popular tipster Digital Chat Station, who has a reputation of coming up with accurate leaks related to Xiaomi, has shared details on Xiaomi’s upcoming premium phones. The tip says that Redmi is working on another flagship-level device that will use the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chip. This phone is going to launch in July and may sit under the Redmi K30 Pro as the second most powerful Redmi smartphone.
The Dimensity 1000 chip is a flagship 5G chip announced last year and it has found its way to only a few phones in the market. This chip is almost as powerful as the Snapdragon 855 Plus and given its lower price, it makes for cheaper yet equally powerful gaming smartphones.
With the Dimesnity 1000 chip, Redmi could be looking to target the mobile gaming segment with a dedicated gaming phone that does not cost high. Chances are that this exact phone could end up as the Poco F2 for certain markets, including India. Poco has already confirmed that the F2 Pro ain’t coming to India and hence, this Dimensity 1000-powered phone may now end up as the much-awaited successor to the Poco F1.
That’s not all though. Digital Chat Station also says that a Mi flagship is coming in August as Xiaomi’s second flagship offering for 2020. Chances are that this could be the Mi 10S or Mi 10 Plus. The phone could retain the same chip and internals but Xiaomu may give it some mid-2020 upgrades. There are expectations of a 65W fast wired charging system, updated cameras, 120Hz refresh rate display and maybe an updated design.
There’s one more flagship from Xiaomi expected to come in Q4 2020 and the tipster says it could be one of the fastest phones in the last half of 2020. There’s not much information floating regarding this one but this could be a rumoured Mi MIX 4 or a concept device. Xiaomi could also debut its folding phone this year as its reply to Samsung and Huawei.
Whatever the case maybe, it is a good time to be alive for Xiaomi fans. Three new flagships at different prices is exactly what the geeks wanted.
