“Redmi K30 Pro launch is expected in March and the flagship phone will get the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC”

Will Redmi K30 Pro launch with Snapdragon 865 SoC? Well, it seems like it as Xiaomi has confirmed the chipset powering the upcoming Redmi K30 Pro in a new teaser poster. The Redmi K30 Pro launch is expected to happen in March in China. The handset, which was previously spotted on Geekbench with the flagship Qualcomm chipset, will also support 5G connectivity, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS3.1 storage. Unlike its younger sibling Redmi K30, the ‘Pro’ variant is likely to come with a pop-up selfie camera design instead of punch-hole. The rear panel of the phone is tipped to sport quad-camera setup consisting of 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor.

Redmi K30 Pro specifications

Redmi K30 Pro is expected to be a flagship offering from the brand, succeeding last year’s Redmi K20 Pro smartphone. Key Redmi K30 Pro specifications will include the Snapdragon 865 SoC, up to 2.84GHz clock speed, and 5th generation AI Engine. The smartphone is touted as the world’s most advanced mobile platform and features Adreno 650 GPU and Qualcomm’s second-generation 5G Modem-RF System.

Additionally, the phone will reportedly sport an OLED display instead of an LCD panel as seen on the Redmi K30, in-display fingerprint scanner, and 64MP quad rear cameras. The Redmi K30 Pro will be driven by a beefy 4,700mAh battery with 30W fast charging support, while Android 10-based MIUI 11 will take care of its software side of things.

The Redmi K30 Pro will only break cover in China at the moment. Whether it will be rebranded in India like the Redmi K30 remains to be seen. To recall, the Redmi K30 was launched in India as the POCO X2. There is a possibility that the Redmi K30 Pro will launch as the highly-anticipated POCO F2 in India, but without 5G support as suggested through POCO’s recent dig at Realme.
